I have recently come across the idea of diaper showers.  Instead of a baby shower the new mother is thrown a diaper party.  Hence, everyone who comes brings diapers as a gift.   I heard this is done because some new mothers have left over things from a previous child and really don't need much more than diapers.    I also heard it is called a diaper shower to let every guest know that they have to bring an additional gift of diapers.   Now what better way to present a gift than bringing a poopee diaper cake.
